It’s great to see what all those tens of billions of euros spent on renewable energies and the skyrocketing costs of electricity have accomplished. Nothing!
According to the German Press Agency, dpa, European greenhouse gas emissions jumped 2.4% in 2010. The figures were released by the European Environment Agency (EEA) in Copenhagen yesterday. Read about it here.
I would argue against the ‘nothing’ accomplishment claim. These misguided Quixotic efforts expended tilting at windmills and solar panels have diverted tens of billions of euros away from more productive uses, such as the humanitarian activities of providing food, water, and medicine to those in need.
Cap and Tax was really all about tax. Now the politico’s have another excuse for further draconian measures.
Of course renewables emit CO2. Did someone think they gave off helium and rainbows? Of course not. This is how to get the endorsement of green voters, green lobbyists and manufacturers, and the green fear merchants. At a cost of $10 Billion, that’s quite a bit of money per vote, etc., but if it’s not your money, it’s a good investment.
