Fretting about rising sea levels is a hallowed past-time amongst global warming types.
Al Gore and Co. regularly ride through the public square yelling “The ice sheets are melting! The ice sheets are melting!”
Indeed the threat of catastrophic sea level rise due to the melting of polar ice has been one of the prime scare tactics in the alarmists’ arsenal, even if they have occasionally stooped to exaggerating the dangers.
Alarmists ignore one of the basic laws of physics. “Every action has an opposite and equal reaction”. Their radical ill-conceived actions are causing “unintended consequences” that are a disaster, often times to the very environment they are claiming to protect.
The folks at NPR have long been factually challenged regarding AGW. A few years back I recall listening to an interview with a climatologist who answered basically softball questions which allegedly addressed concerns from skeptics. Their expert? – Michael Mann. You can imagine the level of scientific detachment in those answers.
