“President Obama can’t catch a break: Just when he gets right with the gays, the greens come after him. In today’s New York Times NASA’s leading climate scientist James Hansen takes the president to task for not doing jack on climate change.” Down-under “not doing jack” would be a double-negative, as I suspect it is in the US. Regardless, it looks like it’s time for NASA to retire the poor old fart as a major embarrassment to science.
“President Obama speaks of a ‘planet in peril,’” Hansen fumes, “but he does not provide the leadership needed to change the world’s course.”
Hansen says he was “troubled” by a comment the president made during a recent interview with Rolling Stone. Obama, when asked whether he agreed with Hansen that if the U.S. approves the Keystone Pipeline and burns dirty Canadian tar sands, it’s “game over” for the climate, said – no, adding that Canada would exploit its reserves “regardless of what we do.” He went on:
Obama’s anti-carbon efforts have damaged the US economy so severely that it will take decades to recover from them. How is that ‘not trying hard enough’?
Why do the taxpayers continue to have to pay this guy’s salary when he is blatantly and for years violating the Hatch Act (officially known as “An Act to Prevent Pernicious Political Activities”)? Per the Act, federal employees are explicitly prohibited from engaging in political advocacy.
It only regulates partisan political activities by REPUBLICAN U.S. civil servants.
Obama does not lead. I expect he can not lead. He is enslaved to polling data. I reported Hanson to the govt many times. I get a response back from the govt. saying that even though he might have violated the hatch act, climate change is to big of a deal to bust him. What a crock of doo doo.
