UK: Met Office Computer Says: April Drier-Than-Average

Met Office 3-month Outlook, 23 March 2012: The forecast for average UK rainfall slightly favours drier-than-average conditions for April-May-June as a whole, and also slightly favours April being the driest of the 3 months.

Reality: April likely to be ‘wettest on record’

A day of torrential rain has put Britain on course for the wettest April on record.

Three inches has fallen already this month and a further three is expected for the week ahead.

This will be far soggier than the previous wettest April in 2000, on 4.7 inches.
