Howler: Heartland Institute bad – DeSmogBlog says so!

Did you know the Heartland Institute employs skeptics? And it’s “suggested” they get money from people who agree with them and have interests in carbon dense energy! (Just don’t enquire about the Smog’s financing and/or paid advocacy)

Howler from The Guardian

Leak exposes how Heartland Institute works to undermine climate science
Libertarian thinktank keeps prominent sceptics on its payroll and relies on millions in funding from carbon industry, papers suggest

The inner workings of a libertarian thinktank working to discredit the established science on climate change have been exposed by a leak of confidential documents detailing its strategy and fundraising networks.

DeSmogBlog, which broke the story, said it had received the confidential documents from an “insider” at the Heartland Institute, which is based in Chicago. The blog monitors industry efforts to discredit climate science.

  1. Applauding Heartland…Koch Brothers…Microsoft…and everyone else who donates to Heartland.

Giving the other-side of the coin…is what learning and science is about. Kids deserve that opportunity and it sorely is lacking from such as the IPCC and echo-chambers.

I’m sure sites lie Skeptical Science etc will try to make hay out of this

    BUT
Can someone explain what the difference is in .CRU or a scientist getting funding for research etc .from big oil…or Soros or Susuki and another scientist getting funding from big oil …Koch Brothers…Microsoft?.

If their science holds up – that is hat counts…not smear attempts!
