On the eve of Climategate 1.0, a journalist e-mails Phil Jones asking his thoughts about the 2009 Copenhagen climate conference. Jones responds (in #5303):
Ian,
I have too much on to think about this. This meeting isn’t really about my area – the science of climate change. It is more about doing something.
I know there are climate change deniers trying to malign some of the research going on. They do not write any of this in the scientific literature, only on right wing blog sites.
All the climate scientists I know though are fully behind the conclusions of the last IPCC Report in 2007. There is no doubt the world is warming and will continue to warm.

About two months later in the wake of Climategate 1.0, Jones acknowledged in an interview that there hasn’t been any significant warming since 1995. Also, how can “climate change deniers… write any of this in the scientific literature” when their efforts to do so are blocked by the alarmists?
