Even the Dutch rejecting wind power

Faced with the need to cut its budget deficit, the Dutch government says offshore wind power is too expensive and that it cannot afford to subsidize the entire cost of 18 cents per kilowatt hour — some 4.5 billion euros last year.

Dutch fall out of love with windmills – When the Netherlands built its first sea-based wind turbines in 2006, they were seen as symbols of a greener future.

Towering over the waves of the North Sea like an army of giants, blades whipping through the wind, the turbines were the country’s best hope to curb carbon emissions and meet growing demand for electricity.

The 36 turbines — each one the height of a 30-storey building — produce enough electricity to meet the needs of more than 100,000 households each year.

But five years later the green future looks a long way off. (Reuters)

  1. You know it’s over when the land of windmills, rejects them. Maybe it’s because they went from punping water into the sea, to pumping cash into oblivion.

  2. Terrorists are being brought to justice in criminal courts these days…
Al Gore and the global warming alarmists such as left wing politicians, pseudo scientists, journalists, the Hollywood idiots, have been inflicting psychological terrorism upon a whole generation of children all over the world for the last 20 years.
These charlatans should be brought to justice as the perpetrators of the biggest scam in the history of this planet.
The social, financial and psychological damages that they caused are beyond comprehension.
No criminal organization in history has ever come even close to having such a dezastruous impact on so many people, for such a long time, and make so much money in the process.
They should not be permitted to get away with it.Hundred of billions have been wasted on a fraud, social and economical policies have been altered based on a fraud….the moral authors of this fraud should be in jail for the rest of their lives and their fortune seized.

  3. So what happens to the thousands of wind generators?

Will the furute Holland look like the ending to Planet of the Apes with rusted and broken windmills half-buried in a centure of sediment?

Or will the Dutch taxpayers spring for the billions of Euros needed to dismantle them?

I think the Dutch are showing us here in the US what the future of green energy is while Obama continues to throw hundreds of billions of dollard down the green toilet.
